Saturday 25th February

Lingfield 1.30 Look Out Louis 1/2 pt ew @ 15’2 – The step up to Group 3 proved a bridge too far in September but he had made good progress earlier in 2022, producing a very smart effort to make all at Haydock in September; this is his first AW run around a bend but his record of 3-4 at Chester suggests it shouldn’t be an issue; good draw, can go well fresh and there is a lot to like about his chance

Kempton 1.50 Rare Middleton 1/2 pt ew @ 11’2 – Bought for 215,000gns after winning a 1m2f Leopardstown maiden on only his second start in October; although he wasn’t wildly impressive in narrowly justifying odds-on favouritism at Taunton’ his top trainer was most complimentary afterwards and reckoned that drier ground would suit him

Lingfield 2.05 Forest Of Dean 1/2 pt ew @ 11/2 – Won this race two years ago and finished around 8l behind stablemate Lord North when fourth last year; was having his second start back from 259 days off when winning a conditions event at Newcastle under Collen Storey last month (Harrovian and King Of The South behind) and should run his race

Kempton 2.25 Solo 1/2 pt ew @ 4’1 – Has returned better than ever this season, winning comfortably on his Sandown reappearance; has a bit to find on the figures with Boothill but not a lot and he ran well after his previous wind operation; stable seeking a 15th success in this race

Kempton 3.00 Annsam 3/4 pt ew @ 15’2 firms offering 4 places (NAP) – Made all in impressive fashion over C&D last month; he’s in a hotter race today and is likely to face greater pressure in front, but given his dominance a 7lb rise could have been worse and it will be no surprise if he plays another leading role; also effective on good ground

Newcastle 3.25 Kitty’s Light 1pt win @ 5’2 – Placed in major handicaps (3m, 4m and 3m5f) on last three starts last term, never-nearer second in the Scottish National on second occasion; the last of those performances came off a 13lb higher mark than he has today, which reflects a run of modest results this term but soft ground may have been against him on last two outings and he now steps back up from 3m; one to note for trainer who won this race last year and a good handicap last Saturday

Kempton 3.40 Ukantango 1/2 pt ew @ 5’1 firms offering 3 places – Won his only bumper and his first two hurdle races; good second in Grade 2 novice at Cheltenham in November and soft ground at Sandown may have been against him when 40-1 in a Grade 1 seven weeks ago; contender at this level if he’s back to form

ITV Double 1pt ew Annsam (firms offering 4 places) & Kitty’s Light (firms offering 5 places )
