York Day 1

1.50 A big field sprint handicap to kick off some top class racing. For me a low draw and one with some scope look the angles to play with going into this. Jm Jungle has the scope but a high draw somewhat puts me off. Intrinsic Bond has the low draw but one can hardly say he has plenty of scope at aged 6. Looking For Lynda & Kuwait City are both 3 year olds with a low draw , but although they still have scope 3 year old have a terrible recent record in this race. One that fits all the profiles is Korker who has a good draw in 7 and has plenty of pace just to sit off from. He goes very well at this track( 5 times in the money from 7 runs ) and looks to have been aimed at this meeting. Advised Bet Korker 1pt ew @ 8’1 William Hill 6 places

2.25 A race for unexposed 2 year olds tackling 7f and it often pays in this race to concentrate on winning form at the distance. Cogitate & Loose Cannon both come into this on the back of one run , one win , the latter with a C&D win which could be an advantage. The other 7f winner is the more experienced Hot Fuss who looks way over priced given he has the best form achieved so far. Advised Bet Hot Fuss 1/2 pt ew @ 9’1 Coral / Ladbrokes 3 places

York 3.00 With just the 5 runners it’s a race just worth watching and not betting in. The top 3 in the betting Gregory , Continuous & Castle Way don’t have much that separates them for me and any combination of those 3 would not surprise me at the line

York 3.35 A poor turn out numbers wise for this Group 1 and a race that could be decided by who makes the running. That honour should fall to Paddington , a no bet race for me
