Aintree Day 1

2.20 Sir Gino is the rightful favourite and looks the one to beat , the stable however are still struggling for form & at odds on it would be daft to get involved with those doubts. Kargese gets weight being female and brings the next best form into this , Nurburgring held on that last run. Kalif Du Berlais had to work hard in the Adonis (Grade 2) last time but is very well regarded by his trainer and should have plenty more to offer. Advised Bet Kalif Du Berlais 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1

2.55 Shishkin is a law unto himself these days and I would not be backing him at any price , yes he could win but it depends on how he is feeling on the day ! Gerri Colombe had a hard race chasing home Galopin Des Champs in the Gold Cup and that could have left its mark. Ahoy Senor is a different animal at this time of year & at this venue ( only just grabbed in this last year by Shishkin on a going day ) & at a double figure price looks worth an interest. Advised Bet Ahoy SeƱor 1/2 pt ew @ 14’1 firms offering 3 places

3.30 This looks a straight match between Impaire Et Passe & Bob Olinger on form and it’s hard to say which one will come out on top. Mahons Glory takes a leap in grade today but it was a career-best performance last time and it remains to be seen where the ceiling of his ability now lies; perhaps he is the best each-way option. Advised Bet Mahons Glory 1/2 pt ew @ 80’1

4.05 Its On The Line is a tricky type who just seems to have a mind of his own , he has the talent to win this but he just does not convince me attitude wise. Time Leader was a big price selection for us at Cheltenham & ran a stormer to finish 3rd , that looked to have taken its toll late on & that could leave its mark. Romeo Magico at stable mate of Its On The Line looks to have been brought along quietly this lightly raced 6yo remains open to plenty of improvement for his ultra-canny trainer. Advised Bet Romeo Magico 1/2 pt ew @ 10’1 firms offering 5 places

4.40 A deep handicap with plenty in with chances , we were with Unexpected Party at Cheltenham for his win there , but has been hit hard by the handicapper for that. Whiskeywealth has got his confidence back under John Shinnick with a convincing hurdle win at Naas and again found plenty back chasing to win a Listed handicap at Gowran (both 2m on heavy); asked a bigger question in this company but is no forlorn hope on his best form with the possibility of better to come. Advised Bet Whiskeywealth 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 firms offering 4 places
