1.30 Facile Vega is the current favourite , but has been under par this season ; the step up in trip is interesting but I just cannot be having him on what he has shown this season. Ginny’s Destiny beat Grey Dawning easily enough when they last met , so I find it hard to understand why the former in a bigger price. Iroko is the exciting contender who brings lots of potential to this second chase attempt having looked a complete natural first time up. Advised Bet Iroko 1/2 pt ew @ 6’1
2.10 Le Milos has been back hurdling the last twice after some success chasing. Those hurdle runs have been far from inspiring , but they have seen the mark come down to a very good level compared to what the chase mark is and the key to this fellow deep ground , which he looks highly likely to get for the first time in a while. Gabby’s Cross is another back hurdling after a spell chasing and as a very solid stayer who will likely get a good pace set up to come off from. Advised Bets Gabby’s Cross 1/2 pt ew @ 11’1 / 10’1 firms offering 6 places & Le Milos 1/2 pt ew @ 14’1 / 12’1 firms offering 6 places
2.50 Despite reaching the veteran stage, Envoi Allen could well follow up last year’s success and enhance his excellent record at this meeting. He retains all of his ability judged on last-time-out form. Banbridge would be more suited to quicker going , while Stage Star & Conflated are rather hit and miss at times. Advised Bet Envoi Allen 3/4 pt ew @ 9’2 firms offering 4 places
3.30 I can’t fathom why Teahupoo is such a short price for this considering he had every chance in last years race , yet failed to convert & has only made the track once this season. Last season’s winner Sire Du Burlais looks to have been ignored in the betting once again & has an excellent record at the Festival, with form figures reading 411201. Advised Bet Sire Du Burlais 1/2 pt ew @ 16’1 firms offering 4 places
4.10 Shakem Up’Arry ran well in this last year when 3rd , he won last time out over this C&D on heavy ground and looks an improving sort this season. Crebilly is the current favourite , but just looks a very clumsy jumper to me and I can’t be having him at such a short price. Advised Bet Shakem Up’Arry 1pt ew @ 10’1 firms offering 5 places
4.50 This looks a bit of a match between Brighterdaysahead & Jade De Grugy on paper with both being unbeaten in their respective runs. But the home challenge can often throw up one at a price & I did like the way Golden Ace has taken so well to hurdling , she barely came out of first gear last time out and being back on soft ground will also be a big plus this time too. Advised Bet Golden Ace 1/2 pt ew @ 12’1
5.30 A race for amateurs that is mostly dominated by the Irish challengers. Angels Dawn is back to retain her crown from last season and I can’t see any reason why she won’t go well once again. Amirite & stable mate Whacker Clan however look big players too and both bring real potential into this , both also have strong course form & the stable always have them primed for visits to this track. Advised Bets Amirite 1/2 pt ew @ 10’1 firms offering 6 places & Whacker Clan 1/2 pt ew @ 12’1 firms offering 6 places
