Saturday 21st January

Haydock 1.30 Toothless 1/2 pt ew @ 5’1 / 9’2 – Showed that he could be a potential superstar with an emphatic win on his British debut last time out. This will be a much tougher test of his abilities but if he can replicate his previous run he should go well. Additionally his trainer Paul Nicholls and jockey Harry Cobden combine for a 29% strike rate at Haydock

Lingfield 1.37 Paris Lights 1pt win @ 5’2 – Brother to the top-class St Mark’s Basilica and half-brother to 2,000 Guineas winner Magna Grecia; 0-5 for Jessica Harrington in Ireland but, having been gelded, he clicked at the first time of asking for George Boughey in a C&D novice in a first-time tongue-tie (retained) last month; pitched into a very competitive race in his first handicap but it’s highly likely he’ll have more to come for his excellent new stable

Haydock 2.05 Jason The Militant 1/2 pt ew @ 14’1 / 12’1 – Disappointing in Tipperary Grade 3 last October on final run for Henry de Bromhead and sold for £50,000 in December; however, the testing ground is very much in his favour on this stable debut

Lingfield 2.12 All The King’s Men 1pt win @ 5’2 – Two 7f wins on slow turf when trained in France; gelded ahead of this stable debut; yard flourishing and the booking of Ryan Moore is an obvious plus; promise in one run on AW

Haydock 2.40 Fontaine Collonges 1.5pt win @ 9’4 (NAP) – Last season ended with a win at Lingfield (heavy) and she followed up on reappearance over C&D (heavy) in November when clear with subsequent Welsh National runner-up The Big Breakaway; solid fourth at Kempton since and the extra emphasis on stamina now back here is a plus; strong claims for trainer who has won the last two runnings with Royale Pagaille

Lingfield 2.47 Al Agaila 1pt win @ 10’11 – On the back of a 1m Kempton novice she made a mockery of an opening mark in the high 70s over C&D last month, beating the reopposing Makinmedoit and Tequliamockingbird without coming off the bridle; even an 11lb rise doesn’t look enough to stop this daughter of a Listed (AW)/Group 2 winner

Haydock 3.10 De Legislator 1pt win @ 5’2 – 3m point winner who is 3-3 having also won both hurdle starts, most recently under a penalty in a Kelso novice; now goes handicapping with yard in good form and he could be better than his opening mark

Lingfield 3.22 Strong Power 1pt win @ 7’2 – He has loads of good form over this course and distance and, with The Bell Conductor, Lord Riddiford and Pop Dancer all likely to go forward, he might well pick up the pieces late on

ITV Double 2pt win Fontaine Collonges & Al Agaila
