Kempton 1.15 This opening contest see’s one of my notebook horses Sea Invasion taking part. He has been marking time over shorter trips to get a mark & 114 is very generous in my view considering the two that beat him last time out have both gone in off 117 since , the step up in trip will be ideal and he has plenty going for him. The opposition looks mainly exposed or not that well handicapped , a case in point is Largy Poet who has been handed a very stiff looking 127. Joker De Mai is ridden by the owner who’s ridding is akin to a wardrobe on horseback , but he puts plenty into the game so is entitled to do what ever he wants , but would never carry any of my cash. Kempton 1.50 A juveniel hurdle race that looks a contest just to watch for future reference with Kalif Du Berlais looking the part and currently being odds on to win again

Newcastle 2.08 This is sure to be a real slog fest in these ground conditions & it’s no surprise to all the front of the current market carrying no more than 11 stone. Anglers Crag is on a winning role , but this step up in trip to this marathon test is way above anything he has tackled so far & at 4’1 makes no appeal on that premiss. The same comment applies to Fenland Tiger who is another on a winning run. Flower Of Scotland however has shown stamina for this test when winning the Border’s National 16 months ago. She came back with a below par run in December , but was soon pulled up when it was clear that she was not going to play a hand that day & she only has 10st 8 to carry. The Galloping Bear is another with rock solid stamina for this trip , but carrying 12st is a massive ask in these conditions although did run well in this last year when runner up. Kempton 2.27 This looks a very tricky puzzle of a race , not much separates most of this field and any type of result would be no surprise , so its an easy one to pass on bet wise

Southwell 2.45 Clarendon House looks to have plenty in his favour form wise and on ratings , the only downside is the jockey who is more a hinderance than a help in my view , he should take the beating but at evens with that jockey on board no thanks ! One at a price I think has a squeak is Aberama Gold , his last win was over the 5f and should get a good pace to sit off and finish well given his stamina for 6f. Advised Bet Aberama Gold 1/2 pt ew @ 25’1 bet365

Kempton 3.00 Another tricky puzzle of a race . Lump Sum was given too much to do last time out , but nothing is being given away at the current odds of around 15’8 / 7’4. Non of the others making any real appeal

Southwell 3.20 Lord North is a standing dish for this race and looks the one to beat on ratings despite now being 8. The younger brigade looks a bit light on Lord North’s class so far , but a step forward from one or two of them would be no surprise either , not a race I want to have a bet in

Kempton 3.37 Blackjack Magic should be more suited to this type of ground ( best form by some way on heavy/soft ) so looks a player , but headgear first time is somewhat off putting. Tweed Skirt seems to like this track and is 2 from 2 here in handicaps ( only defeat here came in a Group 2 ) & did win a bumper on debut on heavy ground and is now back over fences, she is a slick jumper of a fence and could get a few of these at it jumping wise Advised Bet Tweed Skirt 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 firms offering 4 places
