Saturday 2nd September

Chester 1.35 As always the low drawn horses are the one to be interested in at this venue. Stall 1 goes to Lord Bertie who won an egg and spoon maiden by double digits last time out , this is much stronger however and the price is very short. Positive Impact has front run in the past so a draw of 3 should be ideal , he has to return to form after a poor run at Ascot but I can see the case if he bounces back. Master Zoffany is on a decent mark and would be a danger if getting the breaks. Not a race I wish to get involved with

Sandown 1.50 Tough Enough won over C&D last time out and despite a rise in the weights must have a fair shout although he would not want to be giving away a length or two at the start in this company. Indemnify can be a bit head strong and does need a good pace to aim at , that could be on the cards as Amber Island & King Cabo like to get on with things and it could end up a perfect set up for those coming off the pace. Advised Bet 1pt ew Indemnify 5’1 / 9’2 firms offering 4 places

Beverley 2.05 Dancing In Paris is a reliable sort and should be in the mix , while Dream Harder can be a bit hit and miss , but would have a solid chance if on going day. Aimeric looked one to follow at the start of this season , but ran a shocker last time out and it’s hard to forgive that. Omniscient has the class to play a hand , but I have no intention of betting anything with Morris riding. A race to just watch

Sandown 2.25 This looks the hardest race on the ITV card today to solve. Coppice drops back in grade and while that can only help she is not one I would be that confident about. Heredia is a solid enough yard stick for this sort of grade , but has no secrets. Midnight Mile is another with decent form in this type of grade while Queen For You is a hard one to get a handle on & the new headgear just adds to the puzzle. A tricky race and one I am going swerve

Beverley 2.40 Apollo One seems to be very popular in the markets this evening , but he is a tricky one to get right & his bets form is on the all weather. Silky Wilkie only ran 2 days ago at Newcastle, but this type of track with a stiff finish will be ideal. Kerdos put up easily his best effort when second of 26 in the big 5f handicap at Royal Ascot in June; not disgraced when fifth of ten in Group 2 at Goodwood last time and may yet have improvement in him, especially now returning to quicker ground. Advised Bet 1/2pt ew Kerdos @ 4’1 William Hill 3 places

Sandown 3.00 Dual Identity is stepping back up in trip which looks a very good move and is seriously well handicapped. He likes Sandown and ran a great race in this last year off 1lb lower. I think he goes there in really good form and I think he will run a very good race. There are dangers chief among them Gaassee & Lord Protector. Advised Bet Dual Identity 1pt ew @ 4’1 firms offering 5 places

Chester 3.20 The should be a cake walk for odds on favourite Military Order who comes out well on top on official ratings , the only danger looks to be Lone Eagle who does have good form at this track. No bet

Sandown 3.38 I was pretty impressed with Mortlake win last time out at Leicester and he can only improve. Starlore is one from one but I am not sure of the merits of that form. Aablan goes for a yard that has a fair record in this contest. A race I am just going to watch for the future
