1.35 Bay Bridge has plenty going for him on the face of it , dropping back in class from Group 1’s & does have winning all weather form. But for me this distance poses a big question mark and trying if for the 1st time aged 5 in this grade is not something I would be confident of. Isaar is the 2nd favourite , but he has no all weather experience & with a penalty it looks tough. The intriguing one is the stable mate Fortino who comes over from Chile. I have asked my contacts over in the US for their opinion on the form and the chances, the information is pretty strong from wise and he is bred through and through for the all weather & while Chile Group’s 1’s are far from the standard of group 1’s in this country they are slightly better than our Group 3’s is the information I have. Advised Bet Fortino 1/2 pt ew @ 14’1
Handpick 1.50 Light Infantry is the current short priced favourite for this & is another dropping back in class from Group 1’s , but his best form by some way is with cut in the ground & I am not sure drying conditions will be ideal. So he looks one to take on . Chindit is a solid enough type for this grade & both Zoology Regal Reality are others capable at this level. Point Lynas is stepping up in grade , but he is a fast miler and his stable won this 2 years ago with one coming up in grade. Sir Busker has no secrets at this level , but the race could set up perfectly with a fast pace and the jockey is riding as well as anyone. Advised Bet Sir Busker 1/4 pt ew @ 14’1 & Point Lynas 1/4 pt ew @ 14’1
Kempton 2.10 I can’t understand how Kathab is the current favourite given he has no all weather experience compared to plenty of the opposition. First View and Baltimore Boy clash once again with the former looking a little unlucky when they met last time over C&D , Rhythm N Rock is another with good form around this venue at a price . Not a race I want to bet in given the overall look
Haydock 2.25 You don’t see many O’Brien handicappers in the UK bar the ones at Royal Ascot etc and it’s interesting that Denmark comes back after running well at York’s premier meeting last month. Naqeeb is a hard one to fathom given he has been heavy odds on the last twice , winning just 1 of them & stable mate Lordship looks the more reliable. Blindedbythelights steps up in grade & did rather throw the race away last time out. A tricky race and one I am going to swerve
Ascot 2.35 Quinault was undone by the Morris factor in the bid for a 7 timer at the Shergar Cup and I could see hime bouncing back under a regular rider this time. Mobashr looked somewhat unlucky not to win last time out & does love 7f. Star Of Orion is another 7f specialist but he can be a bit tricky to get going. Spangled Mac got the job done with something to spare last time out & I get the impression he has more to offer. Advised Bet Spangled Mac 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 / 7’1 firms offering 4 places
Leopardstown 2.45 Tahiyra is the rightful short priced favourite given what she has done so far , but I can’t help thinking she looks a bit tricky at times and the 3 year old generation have looked far from world beaters this season, I would not be taking a short price about her. Homeless Songs looks to have been held back for an Autumn campaign & she won first time out at two and three , if there is a danger to favourite it is her. Advised Bet Homeless Songs 3/4 pt ew @ 8’1
Haydock 3.00 Caius Chorister having been short of room she did very well to rally for sixth in the Ebor at York a fortnight ago, when back up in distance; she’s unexposed at this trip and is one to consider off the same mark. Forza Orta got back to winning ways a York a track he likes last time out , so he is in form which is something that cannot be said for plenty of the other runners in this . Advised Bet Forza Orta 1 pt ew @ 7 ‘1 firms offering 5 places
Ascot 3.10 Victory Dance is a puzzling favourite for this race considering the new headgear and trying a new trip. Alsakib on the other hand looks a middle-distance colt judged on his staying-on third in 1m2f handicap at Glorious Goodwood; raced only four times and likely to do better still. Gallant Lion & Overactive are both on winning runs & have more to offer. A no bet race
Leopardstown 3.20 A very tight looking contest , the 3 year olds don’t look a great bunch this season so I would be looking at the older horses. Of them its hard to pick one standout so it’s a race I am just going to watch
Haydock 3.35 Shaquille has won seven of his eight starts and on form he stands out as the one to beat as the sprinting division is far from competitive at this level. Of the rest Regional needs something extra today but in the past there was a suspicion that 6f suited best, and he’s 2-2 here, so there are reasons for optimism now back up in trip. Mill Stream is an improved type this season while Sacred is a tricky type who I would not be placing too much faith in. Advised bet Regional 1/2 pt ew @ 12’1 /11 ‘1 firms offering 4 places
