Leopardstown 1.10 Shewearsitwell £25 win @ 7’4 – Can make the odd mistake but she’s smart when it all comes together and there was nothing wrong with her willingness when getting up late to land a qualifier for the Pertemps series at Punchestown; fully effective at this shorter trip, having run well in a 2m3f Grade 1 for mares back in April; bound to go well
Leopardstown 1.45 Gaillard Du Mesnil £25 win @ 13’8 – Dual Grade 1 winner as a novice hurdler; 0-6 over fences but campaigned at a high level; third behind stablemate Gallopin Des Champs in Grade 1 here in February; same placing in Brown Advisory and in Irish Grand National (Front Assault now 15lb worse off); chased home Mighty Potter in the Drinmore; longer trip should help his cause
Leopardstown 2.20 State Man £25 win @ 9’10 – The talk of the town when landing a gamble in last season’s County Hurdle at Cheltenham and has soon established himself at the highest level with wins at Punchestown, latterly coming 4l clear of a staying-on Sharjah in the Morgiana; improving all the time and difficult to gauge the ceiling of his ability
Doncaster 2.40 Omar Maretti £18.75 ew @ 8’1 / 7’1 firms offering 4 places (NAP) – He looked seriously progressive until totally bombing out when well fancied in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival and he’s surely better judged on his two previous wins at Catterick and Newcastle. He beat some decent horses with a bit to spare on both those occasions and if he’s in the same form and the rain has got into the ground, I think Omar Maretti will take plenty of beating. There is surely more to come from him as he’s relatively unexposed in the context of this race and his trainer Alex Hales was two from two with his runners on Wednesday
Leopardstown 2.55 Green Glory £25 win @ 2’1 – Long-priced Punchestown bumper winner in April; has picked up enough hurdling experience to be considered a live possibility in his first handicap
Doncaster 3.10 Zambella £25 win @ 10’11 – Won this last year and this front-runner posted Listed win number six when comfortably beating Maid O’Malley and Annie Mc at Carlisle last month; all of her wins have come on soft ground or slower but she’s also shown promise on good/good to soft; leading claims
ITV Double £25 ew Omar Maretti ( firms offering 4 places ) & Green Glory ( firms offering 5 places ) William Hill offer both with extra places @ 7’1 & 2’1
