Tuesday 27th December

Kempton 12.45 Postmark £25 win @ 5’2 – Won for Ralph Beckett and for this stable on the Flat in 2022; form dipped when last seen but a progressive sort otherwise; interesting juvenile hurdle prospect for trainer who does well in this division

Chepstow 1.05 Golden Whisky £12.50 ew @ 10’1 firms offering 4 places – Ended last season with two below-par runs and made low-key reappearance last month but is effectively 2lb lower than when pushed-out winner of this race 12 months ago (soft ground) and has possibilities if revived by the first-time cheekpieces

Kempton 1.20 Lac De Constance £25 win @ 11’8 – Unbeaten hurdler, including Listed novice at Exeter in February; left that form well behind when making an impressive chasing debut here five weeks ago, having not a moment’s concern against useful rivals; deserves this step up in class and not to be underestimated

Chepstow 1.40 Scriptwriter £25 win @ 9’2 – Won a 2yo maiden for Aidan O’Brien and was only 6l away in a Group 3 this April; 62,000gns purchase and so far so good over hurdles, pretty impressive in beating Perseus Way at Cheltenham in a race the stable won 12 months earlier with its top juvenile Knight Salute; has strong form claims

Kempton 1.55 Get A Tonic £25 win @ 6’4 – Nicely progressive last season which culminated in a 3m success at Ayr off 7lb lower; went up another 4lb for finishing second at Haydock on her reappearance but that was a deep handicap against male opposition and she could well come on for the run; well regarded and a big player

Chepstow 2.10 Green Book £25 win @ 3’1 – Flat winner who has been largely progressive over hurdles, winning a Grade 3 handicap at Sandown last winter and running well when fifth in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham; returns from wind surgery and nine months off with untapped potential

Kempton 2.30 Funambule Sivola £12.50 ew @ 10’1 – Progressive last season, winning the Grade 2 Game Spirit at Newbury before chasing home Energumene in the Champion Chase at Cheltenham; well behind Edwardstone in the Tingle Creek on reappearance, but jumped three out in contention and presumably lacked for fitness; good chance he can build on that

Chepstow 2.50 Musical Slave £18.75 ew @ 16’1 firms offering 6 places (NAP) – Acts on heavy but last season’s wins came on good to soft at Sandown and Haydock before his second when upped in trip for the big 3m5f handicap at Sandown in April; made a satisfactory reappearance behind The Big Breakaway last month; could have more to offer as a stayer

Kempton 3.09 Five Star Getaway £12.50 ew @ 15’2 / 7’1 firms offering 4 places – Couple of respectable efforts this term, latest in the Becher Chase at Aintree; has become nicely handicapped, having slipped back to same mark as when winning this race last year; strong claims

ITV Double £25 ew Musical Slave ( 6 places ) & Five Star Getaway ( 4 places )
