1.45 Ballybreeze is the somewhat surprising favourite this evening , he fell when last seen and has had wind surgery since & you can’t really say he is that well handicapped ; obviously someone thinks he is capable but not one for me at the current price. Calico is another coming into this off the back of a fall and it’s not something I am that keen on backing one with that kind of profile. Triple Trade ran well enough here last month over the minimum and a return to this trip should be well within reach. The one I like at what I think is a value price is Do Your Job , he is the classiest of these over fences and is now back down and past the last winning mark & his shrewd stable is sure to find the key at some point after a pipe opener at Aintree a few weeks ago. Advised Bet Do Your Job 1/2 pt ew @ 13’2 / 6’1 firms offering 4 places
2.20 A very tight knit graded contest & any one of the 4 runners could win , with no real value in the prices we can easily swerve this race
2.55 Gordon Elliot has both the leading fancies in Delta Work & Galvin . I doubt either will be cherry ripe for this & having better targets down the line , but having so much experience of this track is bound to count for something. The same can be said for the winner of this race for the past two runnings Back On The Lash ( lower mark this time around too ) . Diesel D’Allier must be in with a shout if improving for the experience of this track last season. Not a race I want to bet in
3.30 Captain Teague is currently odds on , he was best of the UK in the champion bumper last season and returned to action over hurdles at Chepstow winning easily enough if not a little scrappy at his hurdles . He is obviously very talented . The Irish seem to be putting up the stiffest competition and if anyone of those beats Captain Teague then it’s going to be a world of pain for UK novice hurdlers come Cheltenham . A race to watch
