Saturday 18th November

Cheltenham 1.45 Good Risk At All was left with a simple task when the main rival fell late on at Carlisle , that was a good start to life over fences but he was found wanting in top grade handicaps last season over hurdles and this looks another deep race over a much further trip ; so not for me. I am a little surprise that Mister Coffey is not favourite considering the form he has over fences at a very high grade ( ran well for a very long way in the Grand National ) , he is well in on official ratings too. I was a little underwhelmed with Weveallbeencaught first time up at this venue and he would need to step up on that effort. Advised Bet Mister Coffey 1pt win @ 3’1

Cheltenham 2.20 A tricky looking handicap with Stage Star & Unexpected Party the joint favourites this evening , the latter returned with a good run , winning at Chepstow , but that was a small field and this is tougher. The former was under par when finishing the season with a poor run at Aintree , progressive prior to that including winning the Turners at the festival ( Notlongtillmay in behind ) & I would be more keen on his chances of the two. The Real Whacker has not been seen since winning the Brown Advisory Novices at Cheltenham , he was improving all season ; but there has obviously been some sort of issue since for him to be off all this time. The one that intrigues is Easy As That . He slammed a decent field at both Haydock & Newcastle in February and looked set to take higher standing in the Spring. But he was way under par at Sandown next time ( when short priced fav ) off since that run I feel there is better to come this season from an opening mark in the low 140’s. Advised Bet Easy As That 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 firms offering 5 places

Lingfield 2.36 Not much to choose between many of these , but course form is vital I think when it comes to all weather betting & the one that stands out on that is Forest Of Dean . He was well backed on the Good Friday all weather championships day , but that was at Newcastle this year & it did not seem to suit is hold up style run that day. Back at the track he has won at and been placed 3 out of the 6 runs he could just look a bit of value at the current odds with all other runners not having a course victory to their name. Advised Bet Forest Of Dean 1/2 pt ew @ 13’2 Bet 365 3 places or 11’2 Skybet 3 places

Cheltenham 2.55 Another deep looking handicap and a rather surprising favourite in the shape of Placenet making the British debut for the Pipe yard , the form looks decent enough for what I can figure ; but the price is in know way representative of his chance on form. Buddy One is an Irish raider coming in off the back of an easy win at Galway , but is up plenty in the weights and that puts me off. Judicial Law has been on the go for a long time and has no secrets & Moka De Vassy would need to step up on what has been seen so far. An interesting one is Chantry House who returns from a lay off , who took a pearler at Wetherby when last seen . Normally that would put me off , but returning to hurdles off a mark of 147 looks very interesting to me given his high class form ( 3rd in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 2020 ) . Advised Bet Chantry House 1/2 pt ew @ 9’1 / 8’1 firms offering 4 places

Lingfield 3.11 A rather puzzling race to me with Mischief Magic looking to have plenty in his favour , but he strikes me as not one to trust ( made hard work of what looked a simple task last time out ) . Off the rest in looks a case of pay’s yer money takes yer chance , so a no bet race for me

Cheltenham 3.30 Springwell Boy is the current favourite this evening and while he has some strong form giving this amount of weight to some unexposed rivals is likely to be a tough ask in my eyes. Resplendent Glory is next best in the betting and chasing home Captain Teague on paper may look good form , that one was beaten at short odds yesterday. Gyenyame strikes me as the type to improve this season . He made a pleasing start at Wincanton last month and put for an error at the final flight may well have given the winner plenty to think about. Stepping up in trip is likely to be ideal & a mark of 120 is no representative figure of his potential raw ability in my view. Advised bet Gyenyame 3/4 pt ew @ 6’1
