Wincanton 1.15 Flagrant Delitiep is well handicapped & there was a glimmer of hope that the spark still remains last time out & the wins have been on soft ground over this type of trip. Huelgoat does not have any secrets and the yard are rather hit and miss at present , although the claimer on board is good value. Enjoy Your Life goes back chasing after an unproductive over hurdles for new yard since coming over from France & did rather bump into one the time before last ( best form so far ) , now drops back in trip and look interesting to me off this mark. Newcastle 1.30 A very hard race to solve , with plenty out of form or well beaten in graded company looking to snatch a bit of black type before the winter sets in. The standout is Veil Of Shadows who has all weather form and still has potential , but the price is rather stingy for such an ope race and I am going to passion a bet
Wincanton 1.50 The standout at the weights is Knappers Hill and he has very strong claims , the odds tell you that ; but the stable form is a question mark and odds on makes no appeal whatsoever under those circumstances. So just a race to watch
Newcastle 2.05 Sense of Duty is another standout on the form and at the weights in this Listed race , she won over C&D very easily in the summer of 2022 and while there have obviously been issues since . Embrace ran very well in the 1000 Guineas this year and on that form she would have a strong chance , things seem to have not gone to plan since ; but she has all weather form. Another tricky race and the current market has things about spot on in my view
Wincanton 2.25 Frodon returns to defend his crown once again , but the years are catching up now and I thought he was on the down grade towards the back end of last season , so he is not for me. His stable has a better alternative in the shape of Threeunderthrufive , but he is another who rather dropped off form wise last season. The Big Breakaway was rather unfortunate towards the back end of last season having started the campaign is good form ( ran a cracker at Haydock first time up ) & I still think he has a big pot in him this season if the stable can get him right. Aintree 2.45 A smaller field than usual for the Grand Sefton , but the heavy ground is a key factor. Gesskill is the current favourite and I suppose the form over the National fences is the reason why , but the ground is a big question mark for me. Fantastic Lady is more at home on decent ground , so she can have a line put though her for me too. Nassalam will love the ground conditions , but I am just not sure the trip will be ideal at all. Born By The Sea ran well in the Grand National last year so should handle the fences , but that was on decent ground and all the best form is also on much quicker conditions than today’s. Percussion has no question marks over neither ground or trip and looks to have plenty going for him in my view. Another that is interesting is Frero Banbou , who being an ex French recruit is going to be suited to the heavy ground and while the trip is a question mark I thing the handicap rating is giving him a good chance if he stays. Wincanton 3.00 This probably revolves around the pair of Rubaud & Hansard and it’s hard to pick between the two. So just a race to watch
Aintree 3.20 A very small field for a decent prize in truth and any of the 3 could win , so a race to pass over
Winanton 3.32 Lime Avenue currently heads the market , but a wind op sounds a note of caution. Vicki Vale is another who returns back to action with a wind op and the same comments apply. Great Snow has changed yards but has something to find , the most interesting runner is Ilovethenightlife who won a decent Graded race last season and on that form would probably be the one to beat. Advised Bet Ilovethenightlife 1/2 pt ew @ 13’2
Newcastle 3.45 Teumessias Fox, who has won the last two times he has run on the all-weather, one of them at Newcastle by eight and a half lengths, is nicely treated again if the near three-month break has had the desired effect. Local Dynasty has some decent juvenile form & may prove suited by this longer trip and, as a Godolphin runner who has progressive form ; commands major respect on AW debut. Not a race I can get too excited about in truth
