Saturday 21st October

Ascot 1.15 The mud is certain to be flying on this Champions Day fixture . Not that many can be fancied in this long distance opener . Trueshan bids to complete a 4th win in a row and certainly has plenty in his favour with the ground being soft , he can take a hold and in an ideal world would get some cover , but I am not sure that will happen and he could be forced into making the running once again. The biggest danger is Kyprios who made a belated return to action back in September . He is a class act on his day , but I am not sure deep ground would be that ideal , that said he will obviously improve for that outing. Of the rest, Coltrane loves Ascot so should be in his element & Sweet William gave Trueshan plenty to think about at Doncaster on their last meeting ( although he can be a bit of a thinker when in the lead ) . Advised Bet Trueshan 1.5 pt win @ 9’4

Ascot 1.50 Kinross was most unlucky in the Qatar Prix de la Foret last time out , getting no luck in the run and would have won if getting a clear shot at the winner. He is a long way clear on official ratings and won this last year , so there is plenty to like once again. Vadream is a somewhat surprising 2nd fav this evening & I can’t really see it to be honest. A bigger threat may come from Mill Stream & Rohaan who both have ew chances. Advised Bet Kinross 2pt win @ 13’8

Ascot 2.25 Jackie Oh is the current fav and was well backed to win the Sandringham at Royal Ascot , she bombed out that day but has done nothing wrong since and ran a fine race at the Arc meeting last time out. Free Wind actually ran in the Arc itself although made little impression on what was a tough ask anyhow , she was looked after by Dettori when it was obvious she was not going to make any impression and that could see her go close in this as a result. Time Lock is on a winning roll , but this asks a harder question than those previous wins . The rest have plenty to prove in this company. Advised Bet Free Wind 1pt win @ 4’1 Boylesports

Ascot 3.05 A fascinating clash of the generations and the 3 year olds have a very good record in this event. Paddington & Tahiyra head that generation and both look to have very good chances 7 its very hard to split them in my view. The French raider Big Rock is a high class type , but has yet to face anything in the class of the aforementioned horses. The older horses have little to recommend them. A race to watch for me

Ascot 3.45 Plenty in with a shout in this contest & I could see any amount of results permed. Last year winner Bay Bridge looks sure to be going close to a repeat & of the bigger priced ones I thought My Prospero who was a close 3rd in this last year might go well . A fair well winner for Frankie in the shape of King Of Steel would be no shock at all either. A tough race to call and I am not interested in having a bet

Ascot 3.45 This closing handicap looks an absolute minefield to solve. Try as I might I can’t really find any selection I would be that confident in so I am just going to pass it over
