Saturday 22nd April

Ayr 1.15 Pay The Piper 1/2 pt ew @ 6’1 – Is a consistent type & this does represent a drop in class from the last run

Newbury 1.30 Isar 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 – Has some decent handicap form in the book and seems to go on any sort of ground. Does not have much to find with this field on ratings

Ayr 1.50 Oscar Elite 1/2 pt ew @ 9’2 – Won a Grade 2 before a perfectly fair run at Cheltenham last time out & has a decent form chance

Newbury 2.05 Olivia Maralda 1/2 pt ew @ 12’1 firms offering 4 places – This looks a very difficult race to pin down , but the selection has a rock solid piece of form in the 2nd place finish at the Curragh in August last year and I am pinning my hopes on that

Ayr 2.25 Rubaud 1/2 pt ew @ 7’1 firms offering 4 places – An ultra competitive handicap and very tricky to have a strong opinion. The selection does like to get on with things and that is always a plus at this track

Newbury 2.40 Theoryofeverything 1/2 pt ew @ 8’1 – I thought there was plenty to like about his debut win 3 weeks ago , quickening up nicely to put the race to bed . Could be anything & is nicely bred from a top stable

Ayr 3.00 Telmesomethinggirl 1/2 pt ew @ 11’2 / 5’1 firms offering 3 places – Has yet to reach the highest over fences compared to what she achieved over hurdles , but there was better signs last time out that things are starting to click & Blackmore comes over for this one ride

Newbury 3.15 Saga 1/2 pt ew @ 11’1 firms offering 4 places – Went very close in the Britannia handicap at Royal Ascot last term and that form should see him play a leading role on the return to action

Ayr 3.35 Famous Bridge 1/2 pt ew @ 20’1 firms offering 6 places –
Looks every inch a chaser and has won his past two starts with plenty up his sleeve, which suggests a rating of 128 is still lenient. Mighty Thunder 1/2 pt ew @ 22’1 firms offering 6 places – Won this back in 2021 and is just too well handicapped to ignore back at this sort of test & for a yard renowned for winners in these types of contests. Malina Girl 1/2 pt ew @ 14’1 firms offering 6 places – Came home in good style in the Ulster National at Downpatrick three weeks ago ( only second run over 3miles ) and undoubtedly a stayer on the up

ITV Double

Nothing stands out that much today , so I have gone with a bit of a value play with 3 selections in the Scottish National as my strongest play of the day
