Ayr 1.15 Isla Kai is currently heading the market & has been pretty consistent this season , although this looks a deeper race than the last one. Titan Rock is another in the same vain of form , but is hardly well weighted. Revich is the class angle & has won here before , but does look a tricky type at times. Kay Kay won with some ease last time out and a decent run would be no surprise. Of the outsiders I thought Stormbuster is getting down to a more realistic mark. A competitive race , but unappealing for a bet in
Newbury 1.30 Sense of Duty is the obvious one of interest on both form & ratings , she has been off for a while and the Champions Day next month is said to be the main target back over 6f , so I would not been keen and going in at such a short price. Raasel can be a tricky type & I doubt he would want heavy/soft ground to be seen to best advantage. Nymphadora is dropping in class , but she has been hit and miss this season. Its not a race I want to get involved with in all truth
Ayr 1.50 I think this looks at the mercy of Royal Rhyme who is the most progressive in this line up my some way. He goes into graded company for the first time , but is well up to the task in my eyes. Of the rest Pride Of America is the closest rival in the betting , but he is 6 & we know his limitations. Advised Bet Royal Rhyme 2pt win @ 6’4
Newbury 2.05 I thought this was a very weak handicap for the grade & it’s a race I could see any one of the runners winning , so a race to avoid and pass over quickly
Ayr 2.25 Jump The Gun & Rathbone renew rivalry from Doncaster & they both have a chance , but don’t deserve to be at the front of the market in my view. Gulliver won with a ton in hand at Southwell last week & you can certainly make a strong case for a follow up on that run , but he is 9 and has a penalty and is far from trustworthy. Aplomb was unlucky in the run last time out and the same comment can apply to Bernardo O’Reilly. Of the bigger prices I could see Illusionist running better than the current odds suggest. Its a bit of a lottery race & I can’t find any angle into the contest to suggest a bet
Newbury 2.40 A very wide open contest & its another race I could see anything winning , so I will just move on
Ayr 3.00 Raqiya put up what was arguably one of the more impressive performances we’ve seen by a juvenile filly in Britain this year when winning last time out & she has a very strong chance in my view of following up. Great Generation is unbeaten in two runs , but she looks more bred for further than 6f. Pretty Crystal & Dorothy Lawrence have tried their hand in this type of company before and run with credit , but neither are that progressive. Advised Bet Raqiya 2pt win @ 9’4
Newbury 3.15 Mister Sketch put a fair enough field to the sword at Salisbury and has subsequently been snapped up by Wathnan racing since, it remains to be seen what level he can reach , but is certainly an impressive enough type. Seven Questions has the best form after a 2nd in a decent Group 2 at Kempton and Array ran well in that race too. Matters Most holds a verdict over Seven Questions , but is a bigger price this time which is strange. A race just to watch for me
Ayr 3.35 Orazio is favourite yet again for a big field handicap & had excuses in the Wokingham and Stewards’ Cup and is much better judged on his Newmarket and Ascot wins, which suggested he was a Group-class horse in the making. I still don’t think we have seen the best of him yet. Juan Les Pins is an improved perform for his yard this season & I can see a decent run in the offing. Significantly is a nice type and does seem to have plenty in his favour , but the yard are woefully out of form & that has to be a concern. Of the bigger prices I could see Montassib & Lethal Levi running above themselves. I am going to sit this one out even though I do think Orazio has a good chance on what he may be capable of in the future
